Children incarnate with an openness to the universe and all the intangible things in it.  In a physical sense, they have a soft spots or fontanelles on the skull, one of which is right at the top of the head and also the location of the Crown chakra-our connection with the Divine. Sometimes, society or a child’s environment will cause that openness to close.  A child may be told that it is not OK to see spirits or perceive energy.  But other times, a child’s openness may be nurtured and that child will remain open to its connection with God and all the energy in the universe.

My two-year-old daughter, Briella, is a very open child.  She sees family members that passed-on long before her birth.  She knows their names and can pick them out in pictures, though she has never met them in the physical world.  Earlier this week, the phone rang. “It’s Diane” I heard my daughter say while she faced the television.  At first I did not know what she was talking about.  Then she repeated herself.  “It’s Diane, Mommy.”  I asked her why she was saying that and she replied, “It’s Diane on the phone,” turning toward me with a very matter-of-fact look on her face. I glanced at the caller id and it was my in fact, my cousin, Diane.

I answered the phone and told my cousin what the baby had said.  She was not surprised.  She laughed a little and said, “You are open to all the energy and so are your children.”  My daughter often announces the unexpected arrival of family members before they pull-up in front of our house.  I accept this as normal behavior for her.  But this was the first time she displayed the little trick with the phone.

The incident made me wonder how many times other children had been open to the same energy but had not been acknowledged or perhaps were scolded for knowing such information.  The difference between psychic perception of young children and that of adults is the fact that children incarnate openly and most adults shut down their awareness as they grow.  We all incarnate with the same God-given abilities.  It is up to us whether or not we engage them.
