Our  souls communicate to us through a variety of ways, though we may not always recognize it. The soul uses our physical body to manifest illness and call our attention to something we aren’t acknowledging on a deeper level. It also use intuition, a sense of cognitive knowing to help us along our soul journey. Our soul is always there to support our physical, emotional, and mental bodies in this life; we just need to listen.

Everyone has a certain birth blueprint–the path that each soul has incarnated on Earth to experience. Often, when we do healings, we’ll clear the Soul Star chakra or 8th chakra to acknowledge the soul purpose. This links the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies to the life path (if it is not already connected). Sometimes people come to the office and have that connection blocked either because the mental body feels the soul’s path is too difficult to fulfill, or perhaps there has been trauma in the physical, mental, or emotional bodies that has gotten in the way of the connection. Once this connection is cleared, the soul is once again able to connect and all is aligned with the Divine light.

When any of the four bodies are not in line with one of the other bodies, there is a manifestation of dis-ease or illness. Sometimes this is done in a physical way and someone will become physically ill. It can also manifest in the form of emotional illness or even as mental illness. Since these are dis-eases we have manifested in this lifetime, we also have the ability to heal them; this is where the soul comes into play.

The soul helps us heal through this process. It is the link between the bodies. As we manifest physical illness, such as cancer, the soul is calling our attention to a deeply rooted resentment that we need to let go of. Manifestation of illness is a chance for us to grow by releasing energy and imprints, which no longer serve us. When we acknowledge and release the imprints, we heal ourselves.

Intuitively, the soul sends us messages to keep us on our life path. The issue here is that if we have projections from our life experience and fears, what we receive intuitively will be filtered through the fears and thus our message is convoluted. When we clear our projections, we’re able to clearly receive information and move forward with it. For example, you may be called to read a certain book. When you’re in the bookstore, something tells you to buy the book and you just know you should read it. Once you have, you find the book helped you grow. Your soul intuitively led you to the information. If we just listen, our souls will lead us to all the tools and people we need to encounter. Everyone has the ability to heal all aspects of their lives with the soul as the voice coaching us through the process. Shhhh…. listen to your soul!

I have written a few articles on spirits guides.  There is a general one about spirits guides and there is an exercise about how to meet spirit guides.  Most recently, I wrote an article about types of spirit guides. Sometimes we have guides in our lives in physical form on Earth, but we may not realize it until after they’re gone.

People float in and out of lives like the ebb and rise of the ocean tide. Some people are with us for a short time and others are with us for longer periods.  Right after completing my undergraduate studies, I eagerly accepted a job with a telecom company.  Within three months of taking the position, the company merged with a larger one.  As the companies integrated, I met the new employees.  The program I managed fell under the category of agent sales.  The agent sales division of the new company was managed by a bit of a rough neck, named John Budney.  He was a medium-build man with brown hair and somewhat normal features–nothing too distinct.  My first impression of John was that he could have used a bit of polish.  He was gruff, loud, and quite a jester who discovered great satisfaction and amusement in his loud belches.  I had never met anyone like John but I learned a great deal from him.  He worked well with people.  John presented his stories with a type of skilled showmanship and everyone always laughed at the funny things he said.  He possessed an innate sense of charisma that drew people to him like hummingbirds to sweet nectar.

Within the year he became my direct manager.  He grew on me like the soft green moss carpeting a forest floor.  It was a good fit because he could work with everyone and I was learning how to manage different personalities in the workplace. Behind his warm brown eyes and jocular disposition was a deep wisdom.  He understood people and really cared about them.  One day we were at lunch and I asked him about his secret to success in working well with others.  He said, “I’m John Budney.  What you see is what you get–no frills here. You can’t accept others until you know and accept yourself, kid.”  People were attracted to him because he was real down-to-Earth.  He had mastered that skill as well as the art of friendship.

Seven years after I met John, he was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. He died within a year of his diagnosis.  John’s untimely passing struck me like a freight train because I had not only lost a colleague but a dear friend and mentor.  I waited tearfully for an hour in line during his viewing. People flew in from all over the country to say goodbye–a true testament to his reach of friendship.

Work was never the same after John’s passing and I couldn’t wait to leave.  I felt like I didn’t belong there anymore.  Two years later, the company merged and I was laid off.  I started writing my first mediumship book and began conducting psychic healing sessions full-time.  I still see John sometimes, when he guides me through new experiences.  I truly believe I was in telecom because I needed to meet him in my life.  While working with him, I learned to love and accept myself–a true comfort in my own skin. He helped me let go of fear and accept myself as a medium.

When we meet new people, we never know if they’ll be in our lives long-term.  But if we trust and have faith that God has put the right people in our paths to help us along our journeys, we can be assured that we’ll always have assistance.  We sail in a sea of light with guides on the Earth plane and guides in spirit form.

In the past, I have discussed the roles of spirit guides in the lives of humans.  As noted in previous blog posts, spirit guides can be with us for a short time, while others remain with us for the duration of our human lives.  Some guides may be part of our soul group, while other guides come in and out of our human lives as needed.  In addition to our guides, we have the ability to work with angels, Archangels, and the Ascended Masters.  We always have help on this side all we have to do is ask for it.

Transitory Guides or Teacher Guides
Spirit guides of this nature work with us for general problem solving.  They’re assigned to us as aids in the completion of a particular life experience or stage. When I began studying alternative healing modalities, I met a new guide who was there to help me during healing sessions.  He became my resource when I had questions about healing for clients or myself. These guides help navigate the physical life process. We can have several of them over the course of a human life time.

Life Guides or Gatekeeper
These guides are with us at birth and remain for the duration of our human lives, hence the name life guide.  They’re part of our soul group.  I also use the name gatekeeper because my life guide holds a special purpose.  Those who incarnate with mediumship abilities and have been able to communicate with spirits since childhood, have gatekeeper life guides. The gatekeeper guide regulates which spirits can and cannot get close to the medium.  The gatekeeper guide also works to keep the medium on the life path she has set out on before incarnation.  Some mediums teach mediumship skills to others, work as authors, solve missing person cases and murders, work as spiritual healers, and others act as communication conduit doing readings regularly. Even though they’re all mediums, they’ve set out on different paths that incorporate the mediumship skill set. Their gatekeeper guides work closely to ensure they stay on their paths.

Angels
Angels have never incarnated physically.  They’re messengers of God and carry divine inspiration and support.  Many healing modalities incorporate angelic support such as Integrated Energy Therapy.  Anyone can have an encounter with an angel.  Angels can help us in times of danger and guide us to safety. They’re concerned with the primary path of the soul and help us accomplish the soul purpose.  They work in tandem with the life guide.

Archangels
Like angels, Archangels work on behalf of the divine but their work is more collective than that of angels.  Angels work to help an individual complete a soul’s mission, while Archangels work with groups of souls that share similar soul missions such as healers, which may include all those souls in any of the following occupations:  Doctors, nurses, caretakers, spiritual healers, paramedics, therapists, teachers, and alternative healers.  Archangels will work with these souls to ensure they follow the soul mission they have set out to complete in this lifetime.

Saints and Ascended Masters Of Light
Ascended Masters and Saints are those who have live physical lives and have ascended to the level of spiritual master.  They dwell in the highest realm of light.  They tend to work intermittently with groups of souls who share a mission of elevating human consciousness for spiritual evolution.  Some of the Masters of Light and Saints may work with those souls involved in The Compassion Project, or any other type of collective divine mission of souls.

Though we experience life as humans in a very physical world, we carry an entourage of spirits with us.  Our spirit guides are here to help steer us through our physical and spiritual journeys.  When we feel confused or stressed by life, we need to engage our guides and ask for assistance.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, all humans on the Earth plane have spirit guides.  These entities accompany us through our life journey and help us along the way.  Often, people want to know and understand their guides.  The following exercise is meant to help facilitate this process.

1.  Sit comfortably in a chair.  Close your eyes and  take a few deep, calming breaths.  Relax your thoughts.  Just let them flow and in and out of your mind.  Don’t pay attention to them or follow them.

2.  Using your mind’s eye, imagine a big blue bubble encompassing you safely.  Picture yourself in the blue bubble of protection.  Feel the warmth and comfort of the energy in the bubble.

3.  Imagine a long red cord from your root chakra (just below the pubic bone) to the center of the Earth.  Feel all of your energy being puled to the center of the Earth.   Notice the sense of comfort and stability as you connect.  Once you feel this deep connection, imagine the cord releasing from your root chakra and falling to the center of the Earth.

4.  Focus once again on relaxing the mind and body.  Breathe in to the count of three and out to the count of three.  Feel every cell of your body relaxing with each exhale.  Sit for a moment and enjoy this peaceful state you have created for yourself.

5.  Now that you are totally relaxed yet in an alert state, focus on your third eye.  Pay attention to any colors or images that you may see.  Do not be discouraged if you don’t see any spirits.  Not everyone will see spirits. It really depends on how open your third eye is at the time.   It is just as valid to feel and hear the information connected to your guides. Ask your guides to come forward in the name of almighty God.

6.  Once you sense that your guides are present, ask a question.  You can ask them any one of the following:
– What is your name?
– Can you come into focus, so I can see you?
– How are you connected to me?
– Is there a specific purpose for which you are providing guidance?

You may hear a response in your thoughts, or you may see images in your third eye that answer your question.  You will receive information in whichever  one of your extrasensory faculties is most attuned.

*Try asking only one or two questions at first and work on sending and receiving information between your guides.

7.  You may also want to ask how many guides are with you at this point in your life.

Once you have established initial contact with your guides, try to set a time monthly or even weekly to connect with them.  This time can be beneficial not only for connecting with your guides but also for connecting with your soul.

8.  Thank your guides for all the work they do and for communicating with you.

9.  Once again imagine the red cord from your root chakra connecting to the center of the Earth.  Feel your energy pull down from your head, through your feet and to the Earth’s core.  Enjoy this solid connection and know that you are rooted in the Earth.

10.  Imagine your bubble rising above you and up to the heavens.  Thank the universe for the experience.

All of us have spirit guides, which are spirits assigned to us in this lifetime to help navigate the process of life on Earth. All spirit guides share one common goal–to aid the living person in fulfilling his/her life purpose.  Aside from that fact, there are several other variables that come into play based on the individual that the guides are assigned to on Earth.

Many people have questions about spirits guides and there aren’t any answers that apply across the board.  The specifics involving spirit guides are unique to the individual on Earth and his/her life purpose.
Spirit guides may have been past family members, friends, or someone without an Earthly connection to us.  They can be the souls of children or adults.  Some people have one or two guides while others may have several of them.  Some guides may be with you for only a short time to help you through a certain experience, while others may be with you for your whole physical life.  Our guides are by our sides daily and can be of great assistance, if we decide to engage them.
